Thursday, May 4 - School Group Events

These events will be live-streamed, but for attendees looking to attend these in-person events, here’s what you need to know. The Rose Theatre seats up to 800 people, and while capacity for these events is set at 50%, school group events involve busloads of teenagers pouring into designated seating within the theatre.

Thursday, May 4: Dine + Draw: Dumpling Edition

This inaugural specialty event will be held in The Rose Studio Theatre. The set up involves 7 tables of 8 chairs. For this event, guests will sit down at the table of their choosing and work on art led by Brampton artist Meegan Lim. As part of this dumpling-themed event, dumplings by local chef Joshna Maharaj will be made available to all ticket holders, so masks may not be worn at all times. While the theatre typically seats 100, this event maxes out at 56 seats. This is the only event being held in the theatre at this time so crowds will be minimal.

Friday, May 5: The Great Readception: A Literary Cabaret (Specialty Event)

This annual specialty event follows an in-person grant recognition ceremony where food will be served before and after the event in the theatre lobby. The reception area includes an outdoor, heated patio. While the reception begins at 6:30 and will run for one hour, the actual event will start at 8:00pm. We recommend utilizing the outdoor reception area or arriving at 7:45 in order to proceed directly into the theatre to avoid crowds and/or attendees who might be eating indoors.
