Venues and Protocols

The information below provides information on the venues for the 2024 Festival of Literary Diversity’s in-person events. Guests are encouraged to wear masks for their own health and safety and for the benefit of those around them. FOLD staff and volunteers will wear masks at in-person events.

The Rose Theatre - Main Stage and Studio

Venue Website | 1 Theatre Lane, Brampton, ON

The Rose Theatre is a spacious, well-ventilated venue located less than 300 metres from the Downtown Brampton Innovation Bus and Train Terminal. The main level of the Mainstage Theatre, where most in-person FOLD events will be held, seats 400 people. It includes wheelchair accessible seating and sectioned areas for those who may want to social distance. The upper level, which seats an additional 400 people will only be used for FOLD school group events.

Parking is located under the building where numerous wheelchair accessible parking spaces 10 metres from the elevators. Wheelchair accessible seating inside the mainstage theatre is about 20-30 metres from the elevators and 40-50 metres from the Studio. Weather permitting, outdoor lounge space is also available on the patio for relaxing between events.

The Rose Studio will be used on Saturday for passholders to relax between events. The Spoken Word Showcase on Saturday night is also held inside the Studio and seats about 80 people; it’s a smaller, black box studio space.

Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives

Venue Website | 9 Wellington Street East

Paint Night with Roshan James will be held at PAMA on Thursday, May 2. The space will hold up to 30 painters in a spacious and well-ventilated activity room. Parking on-site is reserved for those in need. Please contact the FOLD if you require on-site parking. Limited street parking on Wellington Street East is available 40-80 metres from the front door. The John Street underground parking garage is located one block away, about 100 metres from the front entrance.

Alderlea Manor

Venue Info | 30 Elizabeth Street South

Alderlea is a beautiful, renovated historic house where the Literary High Tea: Romance Writers Edition will be held. The venue seats over 80 people, and the event will be held on the main floor. The house is wheelchair accessible with wheelchair accessible washrooms on the main floor. George Street Parking is located about 100 metres from the front doors.
