What is FOLD’s Fall Book Fest?
As part of Culture Days – a nation-wide celebration of art and culture – the FOLD Fall Book Fest will showcase self-published authors of children’s, young adult, and adult literature. The Book Fest will showcase 8-10 self-published authors and spoken word artists performing and/or reading from their work. All Culture Days events are free to the public.
When is the FOLD’s Fall Book Fest?
The 2018 FOLD Fall Book Fest will showcase self-published authors from 1-5pm on Saturday, September 29, at Shoppers World in Brampton.
How are authors selected?
8-10 authors will be selected to perform on the basis of their application, which will be reviewed by members of the FOLD Planning Team. Authors will be notified by Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
Can I purchase a table to sell books?
Participating authors will be given the chance to sell and sign their books through a central FOLD table. Books will be sold on a 60/40 consignment basis, with 40% of proceeds going to the FOLD.
If I am selected to participate as an author, will I get paid?
All authors who are selected to present in the 2018 FOLD Fall Book Fest will each receive a $100 honorarium.
If I am selected to participate as an author, what should I bring?
All authors and poets should bring copies of up to two titles to sell in the FOLD-up Shop.
Is the event space accessible?
The 2018 FOLD Fall Book Fest will take place at Shoppers World mall, located at 499 Main Street in Brampton. The mall has accessible entrances and washrooms. More information on the accessibility of the space can be found here.
