The FOLD Foundation, a charitable organization based in Brampton, Ontario, is hiring a full-time OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR.
Reporting to the Executive Director for the FOLD Foundation, the Outreach and Communications Coordinator will execute and oversee outreach and communication strategies for the FOLD’s key stakeholders.
Primary duties include interacting with sponsors, community partners, educators, and general audiences for the Festival of Literary Diversity, FOLD Kids Book Fest, and other year-round initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES: OUTREACH AND FUND DEVELOPMENT
- Design, implement and evaluate funder and donor recognition strategies
- Solicit opportunities for outreach and liaise with community partners
- Attend networking groups, events, and meetings where appropriate, occasionally on evenings and weekends
- Cultivate and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships within the literary and Brampton community
- Coordinate and execute donor recognition and stewardship activities
- Perform prospect research on foundations, donors and government agencies to identify and evaluate prospects for grants
- Coordinate prospect activity (prepare profiles and briefing documents, book appointments, prepare/modify proposals)
- Act as primary contact and provide day-to-day support for donors and supporters
- Develop a framework for donor recognition and retention
- Prioritize and foster strong relationships with donors and sponsors for the long term
- Create and maintain online fundraising initiatives
- Handle day-to-day campaign development support and updates
- Oversee timely and accurate development of goals
- Maintain electronic records related to donors and event participants
- Oversee third party fundraisers and act as point of contact
- Liaise with community organizations in Brampton to cross-promote festival programming and development (local libraries, regional school boards, arts organizations, etc.)
- Review event surveys and write detailed post-mortem outreach report in November and May, including recommendations for improvement
- Arrange promotional events in the community (such as booths at other festivals, etc.)
- Organize and manage promotional materials for partnership events
RESPONSIBILITIES: COMMUNICATIONS
- Create timelines and strategies for digital and print communications
- Manage email marketing platforms (eg. MailChimp) to execute campaigns and ensure deliverability
- Create and maintain mailing lists
- Write and edit dynamic, time-specific copy for website (update files and modules where appropriate)
- Collaborate with graphic designer and web developer to produce cohesive print and digital materials
- Research and develop communication and social media strategies
- Oversee publicity team/committee
- Create and integrate branding strategy (in collaboration with graphic designer)
- Take part in, and contribute to, strategic planning sessions
- Manage and track FOLD promotional materials and overall inventory
RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL
- Attend FOLD Team Meetings and weekly Fund Development Meetings
- Providing support to FOLD Executive Director in administrative duties, as directed
- Occasional in-person weekend/evening community outreach initiatives and events
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years experience working in public relations, fund development, arts administration and/or marketing
- Interest in books and literature
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Mature personal judgment, exhibiting a high level of professionalism and diplomacy
- Ability to handle vulnerable populations with excellence and empathy
- Strong interpersonal strengths on phone, online, and in-person
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to speak a second language is valuable but not required
- Lived experience as a member of marginalized community/communities is considered an asset. This includes BIPOC, disabled, non-binary and queer applicants as well as applicants from marginalized faith-based communities.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary for this position is $50,000 per annum. The selected applicant will also be eligible for a healthcare spending account after successful completion of probation.
LOCATION
This role involves working remotely and provides the ability to work from home 4-5 days a week with regular workdays on-site in Brampton. Weekly in-person engagement and availability in Brampton, Ontario will be required. All events are held in wheelchair accessible spaces.
