Venues and Accessibility

This page provides information about the venues for the 2026 Festival of Literary Diversity’s in-person events.

Details such as crowd sizes, wheelchair accessibility, and parking may help you navigate festival events more comfortably. Please note that masks are welcome in all FOLD spaces, though are not mandatory.

The Rose Theatre

Venue Website | 1 Theatre Lane, Brampton, ON

The Rose Theatre is a spacious, well-ventilated venue located less than 300 metres from the Downtown Brampton Innovation Bus and Train Terminal. The main level of the main stage, where most in-person FOLD events will be held, seats 400 people. The studio space holds about 80 people; it’s a smaller, black box studio space.

A prayer space is located on the upper level of the venue and will be available to guests from Friday to Sunday during event times. Weather permitting, outdoor lounge space is also available on the patio for relaxing between events.

Parking is located under the building, including numerous wheelchair accessible parking spaces within 10 metres of the elevators. Wheelchair accessible seating inside the main stage is about 20-30 metres from the elevators and 40-50 metres from the studio.

Paint and Poetry Night and Dish It! With the Authors will be held at PAMA. The space will hold approximately 50 people in a spacious and well-ventilated activity room. PAMA is fully wheelchair accessible.

Parking on-site is reserved for those in need. Please contact FOLD if you require on-site parking. Limited street parking on Wellington Street East is available 40-80 metres from the front door. The John Street underground parking garage is located one block away, about 100 metres from the front entrance.

Algoma University (Lower Level Lounge)

Reading Party with Reading Rhythms will be held at Algoma University’s Lower Level Lounge. The space will hold approximately 50 people in a spacious and well-ventilated activity room. Algoma University is fully wheelchair accessible.

Parking is located under The Rose Theatre, including numerous wheelchair accessible parking spaces within 10 metres of the elevators. Algoma University is approximately 50 metres from The Rose Theatre, accessed through an outdoor, pedestrian-only courtyard.

Directions to Brampton

All in-person events will be held in downtown Brampton, which accessible by car, Brampton Transit, and GO Transit.

From Toronto

Downtown Brampton is approximately one hour from downtown Toronto. Attendees can travel west on Hwy 401, then north on Hwy 410. Exit at Queen Street. Turn left and travel west until you reach Main Street.

From West of Brampton

Attendees coming from west of Brampton can travel east on Hwy 401, then north on Hwy 410. Exit at Queen Street. Turn left and travel west until you reach Main Street.

From Pearson International Airport

Downtown Brampton is approximately 30 minutes from Pearson International Airport. Attendees departing from the airport should follow signs for Hwy 427 South to Hwy 401 West. Then travel north on Hwy 410 and exit at Queen Street. Turn left and travel west until you reach Main Street.

Via Brampton Transit

There are multiple Brampton Transit bus stops in downtown Brampton. Please visit Brampton Transit’s Plan Your Trip page for maps, route schedules, real-time bus information, and custom trip planning tools.

Via GO Transit

The Brampton Innovation District GO Station is on the Kitchener GO line, which extends as far as Union Station, Toronto in the east and Kitchener-Waterloo in the west. The Brampton Innovation District GO Station has both train and bus service. Please visit the GO Transit website to plan your trip.
