Description
In this workshop we will consider work by poets who foreground a conscious attunement to land and place. Brief writing exercises will ask you to explore your mind as an embodied poetic voice rooted to its particular spatial place and identity. We will examine the possibility of the poem as a space for conversation between the desire for transcendence and the need for responsibility.

Ruby will help authors identify the heat level they are comfortable with for their stories, provide advice on how to approach intimate scenes without using overly flowery or — what is sometimes deemed as — cheesy language, and how intimate scenes can and should be used to progress plot in genre fiction.
