FOLD Academy is a webinar series for writers developing their craft. FOLD Academy Kids connects young readers and writers 5-9 years of age with Canadian authors.
FOLD Academy webinars for adults are held on the second Saturday of the month at 12pm EST. The webinars take place over Zoom and can be accessed anywhere there is Internet access. Webinars can also be accessed over the phone using Zoom dial-in codes, which are provided to registrants once they have registered.
Writing on-page intimacy can be intimidating for even the most seasoned of genre fiction writers. As the author of high-heat, open door romances, Ruby Barrett has mastered the art of on-page intimacy that is inclusive of all genders and heat levels. Ruby will help authors identify the heat level they are comfortable with for their stories, provide advice on how to approach intimate scenes without using overly flowery or — what is sometimes deemed as — cheesy language, and how intimate scenes can and should be used to progress plot in genre fiction.

This workshop will outline common goals, restrictions and benefits of each path—traditional publishing, independent publishing, or some combination of both—to help an author find what works best for them and meet their overall career goals.
