The FOLD is pleased to welcome two new staff members. Please join us in welcoming Samantha Clarke and Jonisha Lewinson!
We would also like to announce that Amanda Leduc, our Communications and Development Coordinator, will be taking a leave of absence from the FOLD from July 2023 – August 2024 to dedicate some time to her writing. We are excited for her and wish her all the best on this upcoming journey!
Jonisha is joining us as the FOLD’s new Communications Coordinator. She will be taking over the temporary, one-year post from Amanda Leduc.
Jonisha Lewinson is a recent graduate from Sheridan College’s bachelor’s degree Creative Writing and Publishing program, and she worked for the FOLD as a Marketing Intern and Marketing Assistant over the course of this past year. In addition to her love for reading and writing (her favourite genre being YA dystopian fiction), she enjoys arts and crafts, taro boba, and the occasional Netflix binge in her free time.
As part of a two-year Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities grant, Samantha Clarke will be joining the FOLD as our new Volunteer and Audience Engagement Coordinator. Samantha will be responsible for strengthening relationships between the FOLD and its sponsors and other audiences and stakeholders at FOLD Kids Book Fest in November and the Festival of Literary Diversity in May.
Samantha Clarke is an arts and cultural worker with a passion for community building, culture and access to public programming. Successfully balancing her love for the arts, she also volunteers with local arts organization and museums where her interest for creation and freedom of expression can flourish.
We are so grateful to have Samantha and Jonisha joining our team, and they are looking forward to meeting you all very soon! They will be making their first public appearance this week, on Saturday, July 15th at the Brampton Farmer’s Market at Gage Park, Brampton, ON. We will be selling discounted books and merch, so be sure to come check us out!
