The FOLD is excited to partner with the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) and the Brampton Library to present the inaugural Brampton Writer in Residence program.
This eight-week residency will run from February 24 to April 25, 2025 and offer the successful applicant $3000 in funding as well as a free, dedicated workspace at the Brampton Library, Gore Meadows branch.
The resident will dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to community engagement, including developing and delivering three engaging workshops, reviewing manuscript submissions from the general public, and holding one-on-one meetings with aspiring writers. The remaining time will be available for the resident to work on their own projects.
The program is open to authors with at least three published works of adult fiction. The successful applicant should also have experience teaching and/or leading workshops. They should also be working on (or planning for) a new project intended for publication.
The deadline for applications is December 29, 2024.
