Publishing Assistant to the President and Publisher,  Simon & Schuster Canada

Simon & Schuster Canada is seeking a highly organized, self-starter to join the team as Publishing Assistant. The Publishing Assistant will work closely with the President and Publisher providing both administrative and editorial support. This role requires exceptional communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks efficiently.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the President and Publisher’s schedule, including arranging appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries.
  • Prepare and edit documents, presentations, and reports as needed.
  • Communicate with authors, agents and other industry professionals on behalf of the President and Publisher.
  • Act as a liaison between the President and Publisher and other team members, departments, clients, and external partners.
  • Read and report on submissions
  • Draft and edit Tip sheets
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
