Simon & Schuster Canada is seeking a full time Sales Manager. The position will report to the Director of Sales and will work closely with the sales team selling the Simon and Schuster Distribution Client lists. The successful candidate will have the ability to sell to national accounts, work well both virtually and in person, and be flexible to travel. The position is based in Toronto and will be required to be in the office 3 days a week, subject to change based on company policy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sell the S&S distributed clients list to key National Accounts.
- Advise other channel heads on the list and how it would fit with their account base.
- Maintain relationships and communications with client publishers.
- Work with field sales team to position the list.
- Manage promotional opportunities and co-op with your accounts.
- Participate in all company seasonal Sales Conferences and bi-weekly sales and marketing meetings, providing feedback on your territory, trends, and successes.
Qualifications
- 5 years of sales experience in the book industry preferred, but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical ability to understand your territory, review sales reports and target growth opportunities.
- Adaptable, resourceful and proactive problem-solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
- Must have good time management skills, and the ability to simplify large amounts of information for accounts.
- Have the ability to work independently, and demonstrate initiative and follow-through.
- University Degree and or/equivalent.
