Accessibility - The FOLD

Accessibility

The FOLD only uses spaces that are wheelchair accessible with ramp or ground level entrances, gender-neutral washrooms, dedicated accessibility parking spaces, and e-button access on all doors.

Meeting Your Accessibility Needs

If you require or desire customized care like a dedicated volunteer, a wheelchair, or translation services and you have questions about the process, particularly at Writers at the Rose, please contact us at info@thefoldcanada.org and one of our staff will contact you within five business days. For festival events, guests will have the opportunity to make accessibility requests at the time of registration.

We hope the accessibility policies and venue logistics listed below provide helpful information to prepare you for a visit to the FOLD.

Finances

While many FOLD events do have a cost associated with them, and while we try to price things affordably, our Patron Pass Program allows guests to attend any event free of charge through a form will be made available as soon as tickets go on sale. If support is required for an off-season event like Writers at the Rose, simply let us know.

Support Workers and Service Animals

Caregivers and support workers may attend any FOLD event free of charge; service dogs are also welcome at all FOLD events.

Please email our Accessibility Coordinator at info@thefoldcanada.org if a support worker will be coming with you. A pass or ticket will be available at Guest Services when they arrive.

Services for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing

In 2024, all sessions at the virtual FOLD and all sessions on the Mainstage at The Rose Theatre will be closed-captioned.

Allergies

The FOLD is a peanut-free and scent-free zone. We ask ticket holders, vendors and staff to refrain from carrying nut items and to avoid using perfumes.

Nursing Mothers

Nursing mothers and their charges are welcome in sessions and throughout the venues; a private nursing space is available at most venues for those who desire a quiet space to feed. At the Rose Theatre Mainstage, mothers can take advantage of our upper level to feed and watch the festival.
