Minoya Magendrathajan

Educator

Minoya Magendrathajan is a Tamil-Canadian teacher and artist based in Brampton. She believes everybody needs to read The Little Hummingbird by Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas. She loves creating spaces where people can be curious and take creative risks. Minoya co-founded the Hawthorn Artists’ Collective, a grassroots organization that makes art programming more accessible to local communities. This is Minoya’s fourth year hosting the FOLD Kids Fest, and as always, she is excited to meet young readers and celebrate the joy of books together!

There’s also an accompanying festival book list although it’s not necessary to read the books to enjoy the events.
