Submissions Open: FOLD Kids Book Fest Activity Book 2026

Every year, FOLD Kids Book Fest produces a festival activity book. In addition to activities like word searches and colouring pages, the festival activity book includes short stories and poetry from young writers across Canada. It’s distributed in print at the festival in Brampton.

Youth ages 6 – 14 located in Canada are eligible to submit to the activity guide.

Students may submit a total of ONE poem or ONE short story in total. Please do not send more than one poem or short story–additional submissions will not be read due to the volume of submissions received. 

In 2026, we are looking for submissions of poetry and short stories. POETRY submissions can be any length, but shorter poems are encouraged. SHORT STORY submissions must be no longer than 500 words.

This year, submissions that are accepted into the festival program will receive a complimentary virtual pass to the 2026 FOLD Kids Book Fest (November 3 – 8, 2026) and a copy of the activity book.
