FOLD Kids 2021 for Educators
The 2021 FOLD Kids Book Fest will host virtual events from November 4-7, 2021 on a brand new virtual platform that allows participants to chat with authors and industry professionals and to participate in our inaugural virtual scavenger hunt.
There are 20+ events include workshops, story times, and conversations for children of all ages, as well as writers, families, and educators. Live sessions will take place during the school day, in the evenings, and over the weekend Nov 4-7. After the sessions air live, all sessions will remain available on-demand to passholders until December 7.
In addition to events that are perfect to show in the classroom, we’ve designed a series of thought-provoking workshops and events with our incredible storytellers — all with one festival pass.
Watch the video below for an overview of the events taking place during the first day of the festival!
Attending the Virtual Festival
With a single pass, you can login in November 4 and 5th to watch events live with your class.
You can also return to the platform until December 7 to access all twenty-three events on-demand — to share with your class, to watch on your own — or both!
There are events for elementary students, middle grade students, teens, families, educators, and writers.
We will send a reminder on November 3 to test out your login and check out the platform so you’re prepared for our live and on-demand experiences.
Teachers from the Waterloo Region District School Board and the Upper Grand District School Board should check their communication for their free registration access code, purchased by their board.
NOTE: The preview event, Crisis in the Classroom, is a free event that’s available without a pass. To watch that event live, you’ll need to register on Eventbrite. Once the live event is complete, it will be added to the festival platform to watch on demand.
