FOLD Kids Book Fest takes place November 4-9. In addition to fun in-person events from November 6 – 9, the festival is pleased to host its annual Community Days at Gore Meadows Community Centre and Library. NEW! Sunday programming geared towards writing for kids at the library.
Community Days includes a range of events like writing and art workshops, storytimes and special presentations that allow attendees to interact with incredible authors and storytellers in the Brampton Library and throughout the Community Centre. Explore our activity zone and our book fair, where books by all of our festival authors will be available for sale.
New this year is our writing day on Sunday, November 9 where kids from ages 4 to 16 attend writing workshops at the Gore Meadows library branch and share their work through our Show & Tell event.

Saturday, November 8
Saturday, November 8th includes a kick-off celebration, our annual opening parade, a drop-in art event with Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA), a library escape room, art workshops and an animal show presented by Hands On Exotic.
Join us at 9:30am for the kick-off celebration and then 10am for the parade. Stay for a day of activities designed for kids 4-16.
Storytimes
Designed for readers 4-10, our unique storytimes are presented by the authors of incredible new Canadian picture books. Each session includes a storytime, an activity, and opportunity to have your book signed by the author.
Enjoy readings from Sheetal Sheth, Karina Zhou, Kid Haile, and Shiva Delsooz in our amazing campfire-themed reading area in the Brampton Library’s Gore Meadows branch.
NEW! Sunday Writing Workshops
Designed for writers, our NEW! Sunday programming allows young people to sit in small group writing workshops with presenters who provide insight into the process of creating a story. Space is limited and registration might be required. Walk-ins will be admitted if space is available.
