In 2019, the FOLD expanded to include FOLD Kids Book Fest – an annual literary festival dedicated to engaging young readers, inspiring future writers, and empowering incredible educators.
FOLD Kids Book Fest centers stories by underrepresented authors and illustrators – showcasing one-of-a-kind programming for children, youth, parents, guardians, and educators. As the only festival of its kind in Canada, FOLD Kids Book Fest provides a unique opportunity to reach a diverse audience of engaged and thoughtful readers by centering marginalized voices and providing a wide range of thoughtfully curated content.
FOLD Kids Book Fest is a multimodal festival, hosting virtual, in-person and hybrid storytelling events from November 4-8, 2025.
A large portion of festival events will be delivered on a virtual platform November 4-6. Classes, families, and individuals can watch live or on-demand until December 8, 2025. School boards who purchase board-wide passes on behalf of staff and students will have access to the platform for the entire school year.
In-person events will take place in Brampton from November 7-8 and will include school group event, writing and art workshops, storytime presentations, self-directed activities, a book fair and more.
