  • When is FOLD Kids Book Fest 2022 and what is the format?

    FOLD Kids Book Fest presents one-of-a-kind programming for children, youth, and adults by featuring stories that center underrepresented kid-lit authors and illustrators through an innovative multimodal format. The 2022 festival will feature virtual, in-person and hybrid events from November 8-12.

    The first half of the 2022 festival events will be delivered on our virtual platform from November 8-10; in-person events will take place at the Brampton Library’s Chinguacousy Branch and Lester B. Pearson Theatre – which are both located at the Bramalea Civic Centre, across from Bramalea Mall. The Exhibit Hall is a virtual space on our virtual platform. All booths will be virtual and available to guests who join us from anywhere in the world.

  • How will FOLD Kids Book Fest virtual events work?

    With a virtual pass, individuals and classes can watch events live on the FOLD Kids Book Fest virtual platform. They can also login to watch them on-demand at their convenience. The bulk of virtual attendees will be students from school boards who purchase board-wide passes for all of their educators. Passholders will have access to the platform and the festival exhibit hall from November 5, 2022 to December 31, 2022.

  • How will the in-person and hybrid events work?

    In-person events will take place in Brampton from November 11-12 and will include storytimes, writing workshops, interviews, live experiments, readings, book signings and more. Some of these events will be offered in a hybrid-format with live viewing on the virtual platform and an on-demand option as well.

  • How do the virtual exhibitor booths work?

    The FOLD Kids Book Fest virtual platform features an Exhibit Hall that allows Exhibitors to design a booth that passholders can visit for more information. The booth will include panels with the option for active links that lead to various parts of a website; it also includes a menu bar which provides additional ways to connect passholders with web-based content. Every exhibitor will also be able to include documents and videos – like a book list, a catalogue, an educator guide or a YouTube video or interview – which passholders can add to their virtual tote bag to view and save to their preferred device at their convenience.

  • What is the difference between a sponsor booth and an exhibitor booth?

    Sponsorship packages begin at $500 and include a number of perks and benefits, including a guaranteed virtual exhibitor booth. Due to limited spacing in the virtual platform, exhibitors must apply for a booth by September 9, 2021. Exhibitors who apply after that time will only be considered if space remains available.   • What is the cost of an exhibitor booth?

    FOLD Kids Book Fest booths cost $120; however, an exhibitor booth is included in all sponsor packages, which start at $500. To sponsor the festival or to apply for an exhibitor booth email Executive Director, Jael Richardson.

  • How does an exhibitor set up their virtual booth?

    Once a sponsorship or an exhibitor space is confirmed, organizations will receive an invitation to begin designing their booth. The link will lead organizers to the back end of the platform where you can create your organization profile, select your booth layout, and add design elements and resources. Booths will need to be completed by October 15, 2022. Booths will go live to the public when the platform opens on November 5, 2022.

  • What is required of organizations who have a booth at the Exhibit Hall?

    Organizations with a booth at the festival will need to follow a simple six-step process to design a booth on the backend of the platform. Organizations can choose the layout of the booth and their avatar (or they can choose a booth with no avatar). For FOLD Kids Book Fest, exhibitors do not need to have booth reps on the platform live; however, exhibitors can add booth reps to the site who can interact with attendees before or after events using the Chat Feature on the booth and/or on the platform.

  • Can exhibitors sell books or other products from their booth?

    While there is no shopping function on the platform, they can use their booth or the menu under their booth to direct attendees to a page or shopping cart on their own website.
