School Groups @ The FOLD

Bring your class to The FOLD. 

The Festival of Literary Diversity is hosting school group events to introduce young readers and writers to diverse, Canadian storytellers. School groups can choose to participate in two seventy-minute presentations, with time to visit a wonderful array of downtown Brampton restaurants for their lunch break. Schools may also choose to attend only one session. Limited spaces are available for both options, so register early to avoid disappointment.

All sessions take place at St. Mary Elementary School.

$12/ student for two session.

$8/ student for a single session.

Pay by credit card to secure spaces. Payments by cheque must be received in full by April 1, 2018, or the spaces will be given over to waitlisted groups.

Authors of children’s literature and young adult fiction share with students about how they became writers, why they write what they write, and the journey that led them to create their latest projects. Authors David Alex Robertson, Michelle Kadarushman, Jillian Tamaki, and Johnnie Christmas in a powerful discussion with author Lisa Charleyboy. This event is targeted towards intermediate students; also suitable for senior students in Writers Craft courses.

Local superstar poets Bassam, Wali Shah, and Lamoi perform powerful poetry followed by an interactive audience Q and A.
