As a published author and Brampton resident, I am excited to bring the first and only literary festival in Canada to focus on diverse authors and stories to the Flower City. The Festival of Literary Diversity will celebrate stories that are underrepresented in Canadian literature — stories that reflect variations in geography, ethnicity, race, culture, gender, ability, sexual orientation, and religion, and stories that employ different methods of story-telling. I believe stories can change the way we see the world and each other, and I hope you do too.
The FOLD will bring readers, writers, and educators from across Canada to the heart of downtown Brampton in May 2016. With established Canadian writers like Lawrence Hill and Helen Humphreys set to attend, as well as rising stars like Ayelet Tsabari and Ian Williams, the FOLD promises to be an event like no other.
